Jerome Ersland, OKC Pharmacist

Dear Friends,

I am sure you have heard the tragic story of Jerome Ersland, the Oklahoma city pharmacist who shot and killed a young man during an attempted burglary on May 19, 2009. Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater subsequently filed first-degree murder charges against Jerome.

I am writing to ask for your assistance in Jerome' defense. Jerome is a family friend, a polite, respectable, Christian man who attended Chickasha High School with my mom and has attended church with my grandfather since 1976. Jerome is a veteran of Desert Store in which he received an injury he still suffers from to this day. The HUMVEE in which he was riding drove over a land mind that exploded, ejecting and landing on him and breaking his back, thus the white back brace you see him wearing.

With my grandfather's leadership, friends and supporters have established the Jerome Ersland Defense Fund at the First National Bank & Trust Company in Chickasha, Oklahoma. All proceeds will be utilized to defray Jerome's legal and personal expenses associated with his forthcoming trial. Only my grandfather and Jerome have authority to access this account.

Any donation amount you can spare will be of much help and greatly appreciated. With the unstable economy, I realize this is not the best time to ask for money, so if you aren't able to donate, please keep Jerome and his family in your prayers or perhaps send a letter or card of encouragement. Also, please forward this e-mail to people who you believe can offer support, financial or otherwise, to Jerome.
